ALLEN Carol
Carol is one our most popular main presenters. She has a soothing voice that is perfect for hospital radio. She also has an excellent interviewing technique that puts her subjects at ease. PRESENTER |

For over twenty years JB has entertained listeners with a wide range of music knowledge and presentation. BARWELL Bill
Taking a rest as
main presenter on the Thursday evening TLC show, Bill is known as a Junior Wrinkly (!).
A strong believer in the
principles of CHR, he is happiest in the wards talking to and cheering up
patients. He had
been involved with co-ordinating ward visits and helped train newcomers in the ways of collecting requests and checking
bedside headsets. As
a broadcaster he likes to tell stories and has a growing list of
impressive documentaries to his name. These include The Story Of The
Spitfire, The Early Years Of Frank Sinatra and Colditz. An
award winning presenter BB is also a former Chairman of the association

BEVIS Michael
A local solicitor and founder member of Chichester Hospital Radio, Michael is still an integral part of the association. Although his broadcasting skills have been sadly missing in recent years because of work commitments, his experience has been invaluable to the continued success of the radio station. In 2001 he was the second inductee to the CHR Hall Of Fame. VICE-PRESIDENT |

BLAKE Chris

BRADLEY James

BROADHURST Alan
Alan is another long serving member of our team. He is one of the main presenters of the OASIS team – our nightly non denominational religious programme. His thoughtful presentation is ideal preparation for sleep. PRESENTER – OASIS |

CARTWRIGHT Reg
After a spell as a co-presenter Reg took over the Friday night TLC show before switching to Monday’s Memorabilia programme from which he is currently taking a break. Reg enjoys playing music from the sixties and seventies and provides a nostalgic look back at the news of the era. PRESENTER |

CHATFIELD Colin
Action man Colin is a retired teacher. When away from the CHR mixing desk he enjoys skiing and yachting. He also likes mountain biking and took part in the City Of Chichester Ride last year, bravely completing the course despite falling badly. CREW Pete Since joining CHR in 1982, our Head Of Programmes has compared shows featuring many household names. These include Robbie Williams, Bob Geldof, Roger Taylor (Queen), Julian Lloyd Webber, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and blues legend B.B.King. PRESENTER – THE ALBUM SHOW

Our former Station Manager regularly presents the Treble Top programmes (Thursday/Sunday). He can also be heard on BBC local radio reading traffic reports. His musical expertise has seen him win prizes on BBC Radio Two – move over Ken Bruce and Terry Wogan. (Some say he is related to Auntie Maud the dottie old lady who often pops up on Friday nights.) Pete is still on the technical team and helps ensure that all aspects of our service is heard ranging from organising the technical requirements of our outside broadcasts to maintaining our computerised and analogue equipment in the studio. Pete
was responsible for originally setting up our computerised
broadcast system. Some of his much valued spare time is spent fronting one of our

GRAY Jane
‘Lady Jane’ is the better half of the Shade of Gray team and is the calming voice on the Sunday afternoon team. PRESENTER |

HARCOURT-KELLY Jon
After taking a break - during which he got married, had a family, moved abroad, appeared in the movies and came home again - Jon returned in 2002 to the association he originally joined as a teenager. It was at CHR he met his future wife Maxine, so the radio station held many happy memories. One of our most entertaining presenters Jon presents the Sunday Breakfast Show. HAYWARD Bernard
Now a seasoned veteran with the association, Bernard’s presentation of the Opera based Variations programme has introduced many to the genre. One of the longest serving and inspirational members of our association. He began as a schoolboy and has since played an integral part in our development. Has served the radio service in several offices including Membership Secretary and Head Of Programmes. The only American on our team. An active member of the Chichester Jazz Group, Marvin – a former native of New York City – is a co-presenter of The Jazz Programme on Saturday nights with Fred Wright. His voice was also regularly used by the Royal National Institute Talking Books For The Blind where he recorded over 200 titles. PRESENTER – THE JAZZ SHOW |

Producer and presenter of our non-denominational religious programme, OASIS, Ken is another of our original team. His quiet, soothing voice has a calming influence on patients who find his words and messages comforting. His programmes can be heard every night at 10pm with a live service at 7.30pm on Sunday. Committee Member Sarah can be found during the day working in a well known Chichester book store. In her spare time she can be seen ward visiting and co-presenting on the Sunday request programme. She has a superb knowledge of classical music which she has used in the production of the Carousel and Melodies and Classics Shows with George Smith. PRESENTER – SUNDAY TLC |

MAKER Graham
A member since 1976, Graham is our Scrabble champion. He has a unique knowledge of words and their meaning. He is also one of our statisticians who regularly compiles our most requested records list. PRESENTER – THAT’S ENTERTAINMENT |

RICHMOND-O’NEILL Barbara
In 2002 Barbara began her own BookShelf programme on Wednesdays reviewing and talking about books. With requests and special guests including authors reading their own work, her programme has quickly gained a grateful audience. The ‘Silver Fox’ is the roving reporter on BBC Southern Counties sports programmes sending back observations of matches from all over the county. A lover of all kinds of music Steve presents Perfect Remedy on Thursdays featuring beautiful music ideal for relaxing or meditating to and Afternoon Heat on Sunday afternoons featuring music and sport. Sometimes known as ‘Prof’ for his incredible knowledge of trivia, Phil is also a very close friend of Gilbert The Gardener – a regular contributor on CHR. Phil is the Membership Secretary. A member since 1991, Arsenal fan Fred Wright is our jazz expert presenting the Jazz Show on Saturday evenings. His programmes provide a unique insight into the music and the musicians who made it. However he doesn’t restrict himself to just jazz as a musical pleasure, he also enjoys other types such as folk and classical. PRESENTER – JAZZ SHOW |
